Our Special Interest Program at Alvarez Hall promotes student success by enabling students with common interests to live together in a supportive environment. The SIH experience is a significant educational enhancement for residents: it deepens student understanding of their respective special interests in a welcoming environment that encourages exploration and discussion of issues.

All Alvarez rooms measure approximately 338 sq. ft. and feature a private bedroom, a personal lavatory sink, and one shared bathroom.

How to Apply
Accepted Future Roadrunners are encouraged to apply as soon as they have decided to attend UTSA, because on-campus living is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis (with the exception of Special Interest Housing communities). Follow these steps to apply:
Login to the UTSA Housing Portal and select the correct application to complete based on when you expect to live on campus.
Complete all the steps available and check the Housing Portal regularly for updates. The application process is phased over time.
Check your UTSA preferred email regularly for updates or instructions.
