25-26 Application Updates

UPDATE March 25th:

We wanted to send you an important update regarding phase II of the housing process. We are leasing quickly which is requiring us to make some adjustments to our plan including the priority deadline for housing contracts. Due to the quick response to phase II of the process, we have had to adjust the priority deadline. The priority deadline has been moved to Tuesday, March 25th at 11:59pm. We apologize for the impact this may have had on your application process, however we are experiencing higher than average applications at this point in the year.

If you haven’t yet completed your application process by signing your housing contract, we want you to know that we are still accepting applications. However, we want you to be aware that we are leasing quickly so you can make an informed decision regarding your housing plan for next year. Due to the speed of the process, it is possible we could need to move to a waitlist very soon. 

UPDATE April 2nd:

UTSA Housing has reached full capacity for the upcoming term. While we are unable to offer additional housing contracts at this time, we encourage you to apply for our waitlist if you are still seeking on-campus housing.

Students on the waitlist will be offered housing on a first-come, first-served basis, regardless of whether they are incoming freshmen or returning students. If a space becomes available, students will receive an email offer and will have 24 hours to sign the contract before the space is offered to the next person on the list.

In the meantime, we also recommend exploring University Oaks as another housing option. We understand that securing housing is an important part of your college experience, and we are here to help.

Waitlist

  • If you see the 2025-2026 Academic Waitlist application when you log into your Housing Portal, then you do not have a signed contract on file.
  • You have not signed the contract.

Log into your housing portal and complete the 2025-2026 Academic Waitlist application.

There is no waitlist deposit. The non-refundable $100 application fee will available to pay prior to signing the contract via the housing portal.

The waitlist is ever-changing as current contract holders cancel, students remove themselves from the waitlist, etc. We are unable to give you an exact number you are in line, however the earlier you apply for the waitlist, the more likely you will receive a space offer.

We will do our best to offer you a space that meets your top housing preferences, however it ultimately is dependent upon the vacancies we have. Once you accept your offer, you will receive your assignment with the specific unit and roommate(s) information.

If you have signed the contract to accept the housing space offer, you must meet the cancellation qualifications listed on pages 4-6 of your housing contract. Another option is participating in room swap with other students to get into your preferred floorplan. Please review thoroughly before signing.

Application Cycle

Phase #1 - Opened January 6th

  • General Application: Students will get the opportunity to indicate their interest and preferences as this is just the general application phase. This phase does not at all secure housing for the upcoming academic year, but it informs housing that student is this time interested in housing. 

Phase #2  - Opens Early March 

  • Application Fee: First, they will get to pay the $100 nonrefundable application fee.
  • Sign Contract: Once the payment step is completed students will then get to sign the contract once they know for sure that they would like to live on campus with us.  
  • Roommate matching: The final step of this phase is to complete the roommate matching step where students can create roommate group with another student they would like to room with. *Students are only able to match with other’s who have matching profiles (Honors, BP, TRC, MGH etc.) and are only able to match with one person – they cannot create a group larger than 2.  

Phase #3 - Starts Late March

  • Room selection: If the student has completed the application and signed the contract by the priority deadlines, they will have the opportunity to participate in room selection based on availability. 
  • Room assignment: All students that have signed the contract by the next set deadline will be assigned a space as there will be limited availability at that time. 
  • Rolling Assignment: Students that have signed a contract and have not received an assignment will be assigned on a rolling basis.

Summer 2025 Applications

Summer applications will be available for all students in April 1st, 2025 to apply. There will be a Full Summer (May 23rd - August 6th) application and a Second Summer Session (June 30th - August 6th) application for students to live on campus during the summer.
